We’ve all experienced the effort it takes to keep the person going–all the preoccupations to do with appearance, the self-image, how we look to the world, whether we look old, what I need to do to look better, what I need to do this year and all of that stuff.
It’s a massive burden and we don’t need it; it isn’t necessary at all.
Yet, the mind also wants to have a rest because it’s been put center stage and it’s trying to play the leading role even though it’s only got a bit part. It’s like you’ve got someone (the mind) who isn’t very experienced and doesn’t really know what to do; it can only perform a few little functions but thinks it has to try to run everything. It’s the completely wrong instrument for the job.
This can be seen very simply, and accepting that as a possibility opens this door:
Everybody is the totality of existence, everyone is Effortless Being. We just have this little pet called the individual that we can have some fun with as well.
We can talk about this more at our next online event…
