Many people believe they are locked in the physical realm, but actually, no one is locked in the physical realm. We remain as the infinite being, and the infinite being has the option to experience through each of the five sheaths. These sheaths of consciousness, or koshas or bodies, give us the option for different experiences.
We can function primarily through the physical body, or we can project our consciousness through the emotional body, the mental body, the body of wisdom, or the body of bliss.
The body of bliss becomes more available to us the more we become familiar with functioning from effortless being. Effortless being tends to create higher frequencies of experience, and those high frequencies are the portal into the body of bliss.
The body of bliss is self-contained and closely aligned with our infinite nature, attributeless being. But we need to put everything down to enter. We can’t take even things like love or compassion into the body of bliss because the body of bliss is self-contained.
By learning to function from the body of wisdom, from effortless being, and returning to the Garden of Eden, we create stability. Even though all forms are appearing within the body of wisdom, they are appearing in neutrality, so we are not disturbed by them. This is the solid foundation from which we can experience. Then the mind, the emotions, and the physical realm all become in service to our infinite nature rather than in opposition to it. This is really the possibility available to us. It is something we can cultivate.
There is a lot of knowledge on the koshas, but it is important to be discriminating and use your own intuition when you read or listen to that information, because it is quite often given in reverse order.
If you read about the koshas, it usually begins with number one, Annamaya kosha, the physical body. It suggests that we begin as human beings and, if we are very good, can move through these more subtle realms until we find our infinite nature. But because this is a game of hide and seek, we are playing with the infinite self, it is often inverted. The truth is that we remain as the infinite being. We never leave the infinite being. We can’t go anywhere else. All we can do is pretend, project our consciousness through these different sheaths, and have those particular experiences.
But we only ever have them by looking into those realms, because we maintain our status as the infinite being.
Even with the physical realm, if you notice, the physical body is available to us. It may be sitting on a seat or lying in a bed, but actually, it is a vehicle that we are looking through. We are looking through its eyes. We have these virtual-reality elements, like the hands and feet, that we can use to do things. We have the senses available, the mind, and so on. But actually, we never enter into the realms as an individual. We are always looking into them.
That is very liberating to know because much of the intensity of the human realm comes from identifying with the body, believing we are the body, and then having the whole intensity of that experience. But this isn’t true. The physical body belongs to the physical realm. The mind belongs to the mental realm. The emotions belong to the etheric realm. And we remain the infinite realm, which is the infinite being: infinite, timeless, imperturbable being.
This is really the place to be, and the only place we can be.
