The Link Between Mental Pain and Physical Pain

by | Sep 30, 2025

Whatever we put our attention on expands so it’s having a light approach to it. If there is some physical pain, it’s really not allowing that to be the center of attention. Whatever can be done to minimize that sensation, then the better. A balance between rest and activity is quite good with physical pain, because we can have a certain amount of rest where the pain can minimize, and then there can be some activity which just gets the system going again and and there can be a change in focus sometimes. When we’ve been distracted by something, the pain can disappear.

The link between mental pain and physical pain is really a sequence in the dualistic realm. The mental realm is the most subtle, and it activates the emotional realm.

And then the emotional realm has an impact on the physical realm. So the ultimate solution is is to align with impersonal being and become more and more familiar with impersonal being. Withdraw the energetic investment and conditioning from the dualistic modes.

But it’s knowing that the solution in the physical realm lies primarily in the mental and emotional round.

The way the dualistic realm tries to find a vulnerable point for a lot of people can be to do with physical health. The way the content on the media–whether it’s to do with themes in entertainment, or in the adverts on TV–it’s all kind of promoting ill health. Everything has to do with being ill, so the people are putting their attention on being ill. It’s like Lester Levinson said: “The mind can generate experiences, but it doesn’t make the distinction between yes and no.”

If there’s an imbalance in health, and we’re aiming to reduce that ailment, then keeping attention on it will actually make it expand. it’s the power of of our attention which is actually animating and energizing it .

It’s the element of personalization which is maintaining it because there’s a subtle investment in personalization of the idea. When you just withdraw the energetic investment by resting as the impersonal being, then the energy isn’t there to be fueling the imbalance.

I’ll be talking about this in more depth at my next online event…
