We all have very high spiritual potential and it’s always present. We bring it into the dualistic realm with us. However, the dualistic realm can sometimes divert our attention from where our true potential is into something which is a distraction.
In terms of the koshas, the physical realm is the outermost kosha. So even though eating healthily and being physically fit are perfectly valid for maintaining physical health, effortless Being has more potential. This is because it creates balance across the five koshas.
Effortless Being settles the mind, settles the emotions, and brings the physiology back into balance. You’ll find there are certain kinds of food which make you feel better than others. It’s a process that can be regulated and brought into balance from effortless Being.
There is an energetic and ritualistic aspect to eating meat, which is that effortless Being is something which is neutral and there’s a recognition of the equality of all of life. But the ritualistic aspect of eating meat creates a kind of hierarchy of importance. It’s the idea that we’re the humans so we can eat the animals.
This tends to keep a dualistic filter in place, which affects the physiology. But it also can affect the emotions and the mental realm. There is no right or wrong in this respect, but what you’ll find with food is there’ll be certain things which give rise to a feeling of expansion and certain foods which give rise to a feeling of contraction.
Eating healthily is good because lots of aspects of the dualistic system are actually kept in place by the air, the food and the water. So being conscious of what we intake is beneficial.
