From Emotional Conditioning to Effortless Being

by | Aug 4, 2026

With the emotions, we usually have a few that are installed through family and other influences earlier in life. Then we can gradually see through those. What happens is a refinement, where there’s still the ability to entertain the higher emotions—love, compassion, and the experiences available in close relationships—without entertaining the lower ones. That’s really the way to utilize the dualistic realm.

This is functioning primarily from impersonal being, because impersonal being is what we all are. We simply remain as impersonal being. That’s where we are before there’s any activity or effort, before the mind starts, before the emotions arise, and before the physical body moves.

There can be a tendency to become drawn more into the world through socializing, meeting friends, and engaging in the subject-object mode of experience that we’ve been conditioned into. By contrast, close family relationships and the responsibilities they bring can enable a person to withdraw from that subject-object mode. It’s still available and can be utilized when needed, but it becomes something that’s consciously regulated. That’s really the most effective way to conduct life.

It’s an ongoing refinement. The ability to entertain the things that are truly enjoyable continues to grow. The simplicity of close relationships enables a kind of enrichment in effortless being because it moves us away from the usual tendency to go into the conceptual realm and toward bliss.

As a result, heightened and more subtle experiences become available. These include intuition, which can become very effectively activated, as well as an inner knowing of what’s taking place in relationships. This ongoing refinement supports a deeper and more effortless way of being.

Even when the mind becomes more active, that’s actually a very favorable sign, because it’s a measure of the degree to which a person has become free of it.
